Finance transformation

The whole finance function, rebuilt.

A finance transformation: the numbers, the processes, the systems, the controls and the team, redesigned together for the size the company has reached, so it runs on fast, accurate numbers.

Led by Charif Takieddine. As a CFO, he has rebuilt the finance of companies that had outgrown it.

What the company ends up with

  • One set of numbers, the same in every report and every meeting.
  • A month-end that closes faster, with the right checks in it.
  • Systems that work together, with far less typed by hand.
  • Clear roles for the team, and a hire where the workload needs one.
  • Numbers to plan on, and to decide where the money goes: growth, an acquisition, paying down debt, a cash cushion, or the shareholders.

The moving parts

  • The numbers: taken apart back to their source, with the chart of accounts and the reporting set up so there is one set.
  • The processes: each step mapped, rebuilt and given its own check.
  • The systems: fixed or replaced where they hold the numbers back, and joined up with the bank.
  • The controls: who approves what, and what is checked before money moves or a number is reported.
  • The team: the roles set out, and each person trained on the new processes and systems.
  • Automation and AI on the routine work, flagging omissions and errors before they reach the report, with a person checking what it produces.

How it runs

A project, in stages: the diagnosis, the design and the build, then a run alongside your team until the new set-up holds without us. How long it takes depends on how many companies, systems and people are in it, and on the state of the books. The people on it have rebuilt finance in your industry and region, at your size, on systems like yours.
